PESHAWAR: Ameer, Jamaat e islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has called for appointing a parliamentary committee to determine the responsibility of the alteration in the oath relating to the Khatme Nabuwwat for the legislators and said the official committee set up by the government for the purpose did not enjoy the confidence of the religious circles or the masses.
He was addressing an Ulema convention at al-Markaz Peshawar on Wednesday. Sirajul Haq said that a lobby in the country wanted to abolish the article 295- c of the constitution. He said that the committee appointed by the government for enquiry into the matter of Khatme Nabuwwat oath was most likely to side with the government officials behind the deletion of the oath in the relevant law, and nobody trusted this committee.
He said that a country in which the faith in the Finality of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) was not protected, could not be called an Islamic state. The JI chief said that the country’s ruling elite had always sided with the world establishment and the rulers always took guidance from Washington and New York instead of Makkah and Madina.
He said that the JI wanted an interest free economy and a society free from exploitation and injustice. He was sure that the prevailing system based on injustice could not last long.
Sirajul Haq said that Nawaz Sharif had been Prime Minister three times but he had done nothing for the masses, and added that had Nawaz Sharif done something for the people, the public would have come on roads in his support.
He said it was the JI that had been protecting the country’s ideology and in Bangladesh,
hundreds of JI workers and leaders were in jails only due to their love for Pakistan.
