LAHORE: At least 13 people were killed while 991 sustained injuries in 926 road accidents in Punjab during last 24 hours.
Out of the total injured, 554 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals, whereas, 437 people with minor injuries were treated on the spot by rescue medical teams, said a spokesman for Rescue-1122 here on Tuesday.
Analysis showed that 428 drivers, 46 underage drivers, 93 pedestrians, and 483 passengers were among the victims of road crashes.
Statistics showed that 261 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 280 people placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 89 in Faisalabad with 95 victims and at third Gujranwala with 70 road accidents and 70 victims.
As many as 789 motorcycles, 107 rickshaws, 86 cars, 21 vans, four buses, 26 trucks and 127 other vehicles
and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
