PESHAWAR: Chairperson, Women Parliamentary Caucus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, MPA Dr. Sumera Shams and MPA Sajida Hanif on Wednesday called on Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women, Nilofar Bakhtiar to discuss issues regarding welfare of women and their empowerment.
Dr. Sumera Shams congratulated the Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women on assuming responsibilities of important designation and extended full support to her office for collaboration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to empower the marginalized women.
She informed her about role and responsibilities of Women Parliamentary Caucus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which was working actively to promote pro women legislation, making ground to have new Laws and oversights the implementation of existing laws.
Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women was informed in detailed about struggle of Women Parliamentary Caucus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to implement the existing laws on inheritance, harassment at workplaces, new legislation to stop child marriages, women trafficking, Acid&Burn Act, honour killing , transgender rights etc.
