FAISALABAD:Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Government Graduate College of Women (GGCW) Karkhana Bazaar for establishing long term, sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of general and professional education.
Briefing on this occasion, FWCCI President Tehmina Pasha said that FWCCI’s incubation centre would
become functional within the next couple of months with a view to provide ‘hands on support’ to the young female graduates to start new and innovative businesses.
She said hundreds of thousands of females were graduating every year from the higher education institutions but only few of them contribute their productive role in socio-economic development. She said the FWCCI was of the considered opinion that fresh female graduates should opt for businesses instead of looking for employment, whereas, the job market was already over-saturated. She said that small business offices with state-of-the-art infrastructure support would be provided to female graduates opting for business with additional assistance to fulfill the legal requirements such as registration, obtaining NTN and other mandatory requirements from various government departments to start new businesses.
“Necessary training to start successful business and take benefit of emerging E-Commerce, would also be provided in collaboration with training providers in public and private sectors”, she added.
FWCCI Founding President Rubina Amjad underlined the importance of involving young and educated females in the national economic mainstream and said that FWCCI could help GGCW students in arranging visits and offering internships to various industries.
“We could also patronize the art work of students”, she said and added that FWCCI Incubation would prove a milestone in women entrepreneurship development and channelizing the potential and skills of young females in the larger interest of regional and national economic growth.
GGWC President Shagufta Arif said that the institution was affiliated with the Punjab University. In addition to graduate programs, we are offering two years courses in Textile and Fashion Designing, Banking and Finance, Mass Communication and information technology. She said that women have proved their strength and superiority in various skills and they could become successful entrepreneurs with a little support and guidance. of the two organizations. The proposal to display the artwork by GGCW students at FWCCI Hall was also appreciated.
