ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday ordered a private bank to restore the services of its manager who was terminated thirteen years ago.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri announced the verdict and instructed the bank concerned to restore the services of petitioner within fifteen days besides paying him Rs0.5 million.
The court said that there was no allegation against the petitioner for misuse of powers and embezzlement of bank’s money.
The court said according to the inquiry report there was laps of only Rs 2,690 in accounts, which the petitioner had already paid. Career of someone couldn’t be destroyed on ordinary mistake, the court said.
The order said that the petitioner was not given a formal charge sheet pertaining to the matter. Even no show cause notice was served before starting inquiry and terminating him.
The bank manager Rizwan Ali Khan was terminated on April 21, 2008 over minor allegations.
