PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jah Ansari Tuesday handed over a cheque of Rs 50000 as financial assistance to the Khalid Khan, a Sub-Inspector, who has become victim of on an online fraud.
The bank account of the Sub-Inspector Khalid Khan was hacked by some unknown person who had withdrawn the total amount from his account.
The affected Sub Inspector appealed the IGP for financial assistance. The IGP called the affected Sub- Inspector to his office and presented him the cheque.
Besides, the IGP assured him that the accused involved in the crime would be arrested with the help of FIA Cyber Crime Wing. The IGP reiterated his pledge that the welfare of KP police was his top most priority, and all resources would be utilized for this purpose.
The IGP urged general public and police officers to remain vigilant while sharing their confidential financial information about their bank accounts/ATM cards in order to avoid financial loss.
In case of any such incident, the victim should immediately contact local police and FIA Cyber Crime Wing for prompt legal action.
