LAHORE: Lahore Police flag marched on third consecutive day on Wednesday in connection with the three-day “Lahore Wear Mask” campaign launched in collaboration with the district administration to deliver free masks at the doorstep of the citizens. CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar led the flag march while Commissioner Lahore Capt (R) Muhammad Usman, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, CTO Lahore Muntazir Mehdi, and other senior police officers participated in the flag march. Teams of different operational units of Lahore Police including Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, Elite Force and traffic police were part of the flag march.
The Flag March started from Capital City Police Headquarters (CCPO office) and passed through different roads and markets of the city including Mall Road, Canal Road, Mughalpura, Laal Pul, Fateh Garh, Taj Bagh, Jail Road, Fawara Chowk, Main Bulevard Gulberg, Liberty Market and other areas of the city. The purpose of flag march was to distribute mask among citizens and sensitize them to wear mask and follow Corona SOPs for the safety of their own life.
The CCPO Lahore, Commissioner Lahore Capt (R) Muhammad Usman, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani and CTO Lahore Muntazir Mehdi distributed masks among citizens at different roads and markets and other areas of the city during the flag march. Talking to the media, the CCPO Lahore said that continuous and long term implementation on Corona SOPs including wearing of mask by citizens was need of the hour as the danger of pandemic had not vanished completely. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said, the campaign “Lahore Wear Masks” would play an important role in controlling corona cases as complete implementation on Corona SOPs, especially wearing masks could only save the citizens from pandemic.
