NH&MP releases video on road safety: DIG

LAHORE:The virtual training centre, established in execution of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Highway and Motorways Police (NH&MP) and Total Parco Pakistan, released its first video on important issue of road safety.

The released video was meant to provide complete awareness about ‘Blind Spot’ while driving a vehicle.

Commandant NH&MP Training College DIG Mehboob Aslam attended the launching ceremony as the chief guest.

Country head of Total Parco Pakistan Mehmat Celepoglu, senior management of oil company and a large number of NH&MP officers attended the event.

Earlier, the MoU was signed by NH&MP and Total Parco to make virtual awareness videos on important road safety issues like blind spots, bikers’ safety, dozing at wheel, distractions during driving, safe distance, driving in adverse weather conditions, defensive driving and others.

DIG Mehboob Aslam said that these videos would be shared not only with general public but also be used in training of drivers working in private companies.

The DIG said that special video games containing road safety messages would also be made for children so that they could know the safety rules before they actually come to road.

Total Parco would also cooperate with the NH&MP in organising different seminars, road safety walks, briefing sessions and other activities to create road safety awareness among people.

DIG Mehboob Aslam said that working on road safety was prime focus of the department, adding that videos on blind spot were very important for creating awareness among the public and more videos would be released soon on important road safety issues, he added.
