PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday allotted 2508 plots through a balloting process in the Jalazoi housing scheme project phase 3, Nowshera.
Provincial Minister for Housing Dr Amjad Ali supervised the draw which was held under auspices of the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) during a ceremony.
A total of 51733 applications for 2508 plots including five marla, seven marla, 10 marla and one Kanal were received under different categories such as government employees, retired employees, overseas Pakistanis, widows, persons with disabilities, journalists and minorities.
He said the Jalozai Housing Phase-3 project includes quotas for provincial service and retired employees, journalists, overseas Pakistanis, widows, persons with disabilities and minorities.
Minister said a substantial number of applications was received from government employees and the process was conducted live in a transparent manner and the process was conducted through a neutral and independent third forum, Punjab IT board.
He said that the provincial government was supporting the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan of providing quality and affordable housing facilities to poor segments and shelter-less people of the society.
He said that regional facilitation centers at Kohat, Peshawar, Abbotabad and Swat had been set up to facilitate people regarding the project.
He said that centers would provide necessary facilitation pertaining to home and flats finance through banks, allotment procedures, plot transfers and cancellation.
The minister appreciated the management and officials of the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) for ensuring a transparent balloting procedure in the shortest possible time.
He said the Housing Department was playing a vital role in creating more employment opportunities in the province, branches of all construction sectors, rural development and economic prosperity of the province.
