ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has organized special events to mark Pakistan Diamond Jubilee including seminars, dialogues and poetry related to Pakistani literature.

The first event in this series is a seminar titled, “Discussion of Pakistani in Urdu Literature” , said a news release issued here.

Dr. Ehsan Akbar will preside over the seminar while Prof. Jalil Ali will be the chief guest while Ayaz Gul will be the guest of honor.

Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Chairman, PAL will give the introductory speech on the occasion while Dr. Khalid Abbas Al-Asadi, Sabahat Asim Wasti, Yashp Tamana and Naeem Fatima Alvi will express their views on the topic. The moderator will be Mehboob Zafar. The event will be organized in collaboration with the literary and cultural organization Zawiyah.

The second seminar in this series is, “The Tradition of Martyrdom in Pakistan”. Renowned literary figure Iftikhar Arif will preside over the seminar. Dr. Hilal Naqvi will be the Chief Guest while Dr. Taqi Abidi will be the Guest of Honor.

Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Chairman , PAL, will present the introductory remarks. Akhtar Usman, Aqeel Abbas Jafari, Farast Rizvi, Syed Waqar Shirazi and Rakhshinda Batool will discuss the topic. The moderator will be Manzar Naqvi. The event will be held in collaboration with the Literary and Cultural Organization Ehbab.
