ISLAMABAD:Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Khan Afridi Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would clinch thumping majority in the forthcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
It was foremost priority of the incumbent government to conduct the AJK polls in free, fair and transparent manner, he said while talking to a private news channel.
The chairman said the PTI had already defeated both Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates in Gilgit-Baltistan general election, adding the PTI government would win the majority seats in AJK polls on the basis of its performance and prudent policies in the center.
He said the PTI was not scared from opposition as they had done nothing for the development and uplift of the AJK. PPP and PML-N were divided in different groups and doing dirty politics for their political gains, he added.
Replying to a question, he urged the opposition parties to come forward to sit with the government to make institutional, judicial, electoral and others reforms to streamline the system for the welfare of the citizens. The government believed in supremacy of law and Constitution besides working to ensure good governance and speedy justice to the common man, he stated.
Replying to another question, Shehryar Afridi said the international community would raise voice against Indian atrocities, bloodbath and genocide against oppressed Kashmiri people due to effective diplomacy of Pakistan.
