SAU organizes international ICITBT conference

HYDERABAD:The information technologists, experts,researchers and academicians have emphasized the need of the implementation of information technology in agriculture, environment, manufacturing, industry and marketing, as an everlasting source of the

world’s industrial and economic development and also underlined the

need of transferring of advanced technology at the grassroots level.

They emphasized this while sharing their views at the online 2nd International Conference on “Innovative Trends in business and technology (ICITBT 2021)” hosted by Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam in collaboration with German based “Innovative Knowledge Sharing Platform” here on Saturday.

The experts from 26 countries presented their papers and submitted their suggestions during an online conference at the Information Technology Center of the Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Marri in his address focused on agriculture sector of Pakistan and presented his paper on “Challenges and opportunities in agriculture sector of Pakistan in general and Sindh in particular”.

He said research is ongoing in all components related to agriculture, industrial and business, climate change, food security, growing population, agricultural development, livestock, agribusiness, agri-tourism, agri-byproducts as the survival of the

whole world is linked to agricultural development.

He urged that experts from developed countries should include developing countries

in their programmes.

The Chairman, ICITBT Prof. Dr. Hafiz Abid Malik in his address said that information technology and innovations play vital roles in all sectors of science and business. “Today’s scholars need to focus on research partnerships, technology and logistics

management,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Bruce Spencer, a professor from Canada also presented his paper on the application of machine learning techniques in sensor data and said that IT has revolutionized the world, overseas business, communication and production, this sector has a key role in innovations, we can solve various problems and create new projects in this regard.

Speaking on traditional manufacturing and industrial practices in the wake of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Dr. Sameera Iqbal from the United Arab Emirates said the world is rapidly moving towards industry, and innovation in manufacturing in developed countries and Environment and perfection are given priority and students in universities around the world including Pakistan need to be encouraged to specialize in the logistics engineering of the Engineering, Technology and Sciences Division.

Dr. Nayara Radwan, a professor at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah Saudi Arabia also presented a paper on smart and sustainable energy and waste management for cities saying that the world’s economies were facing various challenges including growing populations, epidemics and climate change.

Energy is also a major problem in big cities, he said and added, power generation from waste needs to be done to reduce the impact of pollution by creating smart

and modern energy in addition to waste.

Experts and students also presented their research papers during the conference Among others, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Aijaz Ahmed Khoonharo, Director Information Technology Center Dr. Mansoor Hyder Deeper, IT experts Dr.Mir Sajjad Hussain Talpur, Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Mahar, Dr. Muhammad

Abrar and Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob Koondhar also shared their perspectives

on modern business and technology trends.

During the conference, 178 papers on related topics were presented of which 76 papers were approved by the organizers.
