FAISALABAD: The Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Jabbar Anwar Chaudhry said on Monday that a water treatment plant would be installed at Old Jhal Khannuana here.

During a meeting with Japanese consultants and officers of various departments, the MD said that WASA would install the water treatment plant to facilitate the people of Faisalabad.

In this connection, the Japanese government would provide a grant of Rs 7.25 billion to complete the first phase of the plant, he said, adding that paper work of the project would be completed on war-footing and physical work was expected to start during December this year.

He also requested the Japanese engineers to finalise the design work of the plant so that it could be completed without any delay.
