Gujrat: Deputy Commissioner Safdar Hussain Virk paid a surprise visit to the Government Maternity Hospital here to inspect healthcare facilities and assess the performance of medical staff.
During the visit, the DC inspected key departments, including the labor room, wards, and emergency unit.
He met on-duty doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff to review their attendance and hear their concerns.The deputy commissioner also interacted with patients and their attendants, inquiring about their well-being and the quality of treatment being provided.He expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness, availability of medicines, and patient guidance measures at the facility but also issued directions for improvement in certain areas.
DC Virk directed hospital management to ensure the provision of all necessary medical services, adding that any negligence in patient care would not be tolerated.
He said that enhancing public health facilities remains a top priority for the district administration, and similar inspection visits would continue regularly to monitor performance.
