16 lawbreakers including three drunkards, three suspected dacoits netted

RAWALPINDI: Police in their crackdowns against anti-social elements have arrested 16 lawbreakers including three drunkards and three suspected dacoits besides recovering 4550 grams charras, 78 bottles of liquor, three pistols 30 bore with 13 rounds and a dagger from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, Jatli police held Mohammad Qadir for having 450 grams charras. Saddar Wah police netted Naeem for carrying 2280 grams charras. Rattamral police recovered 560 grams charras from the possession of Shahzad Khan and 1260 grams charras from Qasim Khan.

Gujar Khan police arrested Abdul Jabbar with six ‘kupies’ of liquor. Civil Line police rounded up Arif Masih for having 22 ‘kupies’ of liquor while Ashraf Masih was booked for possessing 14 bottles of liquor.

Similarly, Civil Line police apprehended Arif Masih and Ashraf Masih for carrying 36 bottles of liquor.

Sadiqabad police netted Mohammad Ali, Ibrahim and Mirza Rizwan who were allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Other accused were sent behind the bars for having illegal weapons and a dagger.

Meanwhile, Civil Line police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid near Grid Station, Nullah Lai and rounded up Kashif Manzoor son of Manzoor resident of Chanda Chichi, Mohammad Saqib s/o Sadaqat Hussain r/o Mohallah Noor Masjid, Tench Bhatta and Adnan Munir s/o Munir Ahmed r/o Ajmari Mohallah while two others managed to escape from the scene taking benefit of darkness. Police recovered two pistols 30 bore with 11 rounds from their possession.

The gangsters confessed to have committed various crimes in the jurisdiction of Wah cantt and Airport police stations.
