SIALKOT: The district administration has selected 577 social welfare and human development-oriented schemes to be completed in the second phase of Prime Minister’s Special Development Programme with Rs 1250 million.
Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Dr Farrukh Naveed stated this while presiding over a meeting of the district development committee, held here Saturday.
He said that the deadline for completion of the first phase of 497 development schemes had been fixed as Oct 31, 2017. He said the government was spending Rs 1,336 million for completion of these schemes in Public Health Engineering, SNGPL and Highways departments in the district.
The district development committee also approved upgradation and construction of additional classrooms in 10 government schools with a total cost of Rs 70 million in the district.
