ACE arrested 1,900 corrupt people in one year: DG

HAFIZABAD: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested 1,900 corrupt people in Punjab and recovered million of rupees from them during the past one year, said Director General Brig ® Muzaffar Ali Ranjha here on Tuesday.

Addressing a khuli kutcheri (open court) at District Council Hall, he said that the department was now working on modern lines and all record had also been computerised.

The event was attend among others by ACE Regional Director Mohammad Ilyas Gill, Assistant Director Ahsan Ullah, Circle Officer Aamir Hussain Sandhu, Chairman District Council Mian Afzal Hussain and a large number of people.

He disclosed that the ACE held a chief engineer who had ‘executed’ development projects worth Rs 220 million on papers only.
