RAWALPINDI: The special Anti-Narcotics Court (ANC) on Tuesday recorded the statement of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) prosecutor in the ephedrine case.
As the hearing started, ANF prosecutor Rana Zahid Mehmood requested the court to summon the ANF’s investigation officer as there was some ambiguity in the case record.
ANC Judge Sardar Mohammad Akram after hearing the statements, however, rejected his request and adjourned the case till July 18.
It may be mentioned that the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench on a petition filed by Shahid Orakzai had directed the anti-narcotics court to decide the ephedrine case by July 21.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had registered a case against PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi and his accomplices in June 2012 under various sections of the Anti-Narcotics Act.
