Blind sports festival commences

MUZAFFARGARH: The blind sports festival kicked off here on Friday under the auspices of Khair-ul-Anaam Welfare Society.

District Sports Officer Mohammad Jameel Kamran, addressing the opening ceremony, said that the blind have lot of potential. He said that hosting of Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad blind teams was an honour for Muzaffargarh district.

The cricket competitions were held on the fist day of the festival. The first match was played between Faisalabad and Muzaffargarh teams. Playing first, Faisalabad scored 190 runs

for loss of two wickets. Shahzad from Faisalabad scored 72 runs while Maqsood added 51 runs to the total. Mubashir from Muzaffargarh took two wickets.

The Muzaffargarh team could score 96 runs for loss of nine wickets.

Faisalabad won the match by 95 runs.
