BoG KTH meets, takes important decisions

PESHAWAR: The 46th meeting of the BoG and second regular meeting of the newly constituted Board of Governors MTI KTH was held the other day.

Dr Faisal Sultan chairman BoG chaired the meeting.

Its members Prof Dr Shah Jehan, Dr Muhammad Mohsin, Engr Jan Ali Khan, Dr Nadeem Alam, Hospital Director Dr Nek Dad Khan, Medical Director Prof Dr Rooh ul Muqim, Dean KMC Prof Dr Noor ul Iman, Dean KCD Prof Dr Ghulam Rasool, Nursing Director Rehmat Ullah, Finance Director Gulzar Ahmad and others attended the meeting.

Different issues regarding hospital affairs, financial matter, ongoing renovation project in the hospital were discussed in detail.

The BoG expressed deep concern in the recent financial irregularities and showed full confidence in the inquiry committee under the chairmanship of a very senior and competent inquiry expert Dr Tahir Nadeem (BS 20) MD Health Foundation KP with its other members who specialized in their respective field.

With zero tolerance for any irregularities, misappropriation of funds and financial embezzlement the BoG took some important decisions in the best interest of the institution.

It decided that as per approved PC-1 the units will be shifted within seven days with the existing available resources to the new Accident and Emergency building.

The long awaited issue of increasing salaries of the institutional medical officers was also approved with increase from 60000 to 92000.

The share of the diagnostic services was also approved as per approved policy.

The BoG decided that as Nephrology Dialysis patients are increasing day by day and the dialysis unit lacks space to accommodate more patients, therefore, an eight bedded chamber will be allotted to the Nephrology Department after shifting of the Pulmonology Department to the new AandE Block.

The HR department was directed by the BoG that all the employees of three institutions KTH, KMC and KCD should be completely registered in Health Management Information System (HMIS) and HR Modules till 31st December 2018.

The meeting was told that the HR department has completed 90% of employees’ registration.
