Call for protest against increase in public fares

ABBOTABAD: Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Sunday increased public transport fares up to double in Abbottabad city.

People of Abbottabad and surrounding areas are angry over the unjustified double increase in public transport fares and said that if RTA would not reinstate the old fares then they would start protest until the resolution of the issue.

Traders, Ulema, students, public representatives and the masses join hand against the fares increase and formed an action committee to tackle the matter.

While talking to media local bodies representatives and the people said that the district administration and transporters jointly increased the public transport fares whereas deputy commissioner is responsible for providing relief to the masses.

They also criticized the local MPA’s and MNA’s for their silence on the issue and said that we will not let anybody to usurp the rights of the masses.
