PESHAWAR: City District Government Peshawar (CDGP) with the financial assistance of USAID has constructed 26 bathrooms in General Bus Stands (GBS) while the offices of the Manager, GBS and other staff have also been constructed over it.
The District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan has said that a water filtration plant had also been installed with the assistance of a German NGO, which is providing clean drinking water to 10,000 commuters on daily basis.
Similarly, the District Nazim from its discretionary funds of Rs.50 million will construct 14 waiting rooms, boundary wall around the general bus stands, general belt and cementing of different stands.
Furthermore, he said that Service Deck , drainage nullah and separate latrines for men and women and installation of funs along with the benches had also been completed.
He said that after the establishment of local governments, all problems of the people are being on priority basis and people have started feeling the change. He said that for the facilitation of the commuters work on development schemes in all stands of the city is continued and they would be completed soon.
