RAJANPUR: District Coordination Officer Ghazi Amanullah said on Friday that supply of clean drinking water to people of Rajanpur district was top priority of the provincial government.
Presiding over a meeting to review pace of progress on repair and maintenance of water supply schemes and campaign against canal water thieves, the DCO directed the assistant commissioners, TMOs and officials of departments concerned to ensure proper monitoring of on-going work on repair/maintenance of water supply schemes to make them operational at the earliest.
Supply of clean drinking water would be ensured despite shortage of funds, DCO said.
He ordered ACs and irrigation officials to conduct frequent raids along with police and Patwaris concerned to check water theft and take action without any discrimination against water thieves.
Assistant commissioners of three tehsils, DMO, EDO agriculture, XEN hill torrents, and other officials attended the meeting.
