PESHAWAR: The Board of Faculty of Social Sciences has approved climate change related courses for degree programmes in the disciplines of economics and rural development.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, the Board meeting was chaired by Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Noor Khan.
Director Climate Change Centre, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zulfiqar and Director IDS, Prof. Dr. Himayatullah Khan termed the approval of climate change related courses as an important step to address climate change issues in future.
It merits a mention here that the Climate Change Centre at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar is working on inter alia sensitization and capacity building to address negative impacts of the climate change.
The Centre is also working on mainstreaming the climate change related education for addressing the climate change issues in a broader spectrum.
