FAISALABAD: FESCO would soon start informing the consumers about meter reading through SMS service, said Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Mujahid Islam Billah on Saturday. He told reporter that the meter reader would send units reading to every consumer’s mobile phone No through SMS. . In case of any mistake, the consumer would lodge a complaint with FESCO for a correction, he added.
He said a formal action would also be initiated against meter reader for any faulty reading.
Th CEO said the consumers may register complaint against unscheduled power load-shedding in their respective areas.
Mujahid Islam said the company was taking measures to facilitate its consumers as electricity transformers were being provided by the FESCO on purchasing rates.
He observed that due to improved living standard of the people, the use of high-power appliances has increased which required heavy capacity transformers. The CEO said use of high-power appliances were somehow causing certain damage to old transformers. He asked people to inform about such situation and assured that FESCO would replace low capacity transformers on priority basis.
He said the company was taking prompt actions to resolve consumers’ problems in rural areas.
” Every complaint from urban or rural areas is being redressed without any discrimination” he added.
He said a formal complaint of a fault was being resolved with in 24 hours. Complaint about damaged electricity poles and loose-wires in the company’s areas were also being resolved, he added.
He said faulty electricity transformers were being also replaced on priority to ensure power supply to consumers, adding every effort was being made to serve the interest of consumers.
