CS expresses concern over delay in payment of compensation to owners of damaged houses in Malakand

PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mohammad Azam Khan has expressed concern over delay in payment of compensation to owners of damaged houses due to militancy in Malakand Division.

In a letter addressed to Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Chief Secretary has sought reasons for delay in payment to owners of damaged houses.

“It has been learned that 744 owners are awaiting payment since a decade due to ‘procedural lacunas’,” reads the letter.

The Chief Secretary also asked DG PDMA to furnish a reply within two days as what are reasons for delay in payment in compensation, what is proposed solution to quickly dispense the amount and how long will it take to process the pending cases.
