TORGHAR: After two years District Council Torghar on Thursday approved Rs164.36 million fiscal budget budget for the year 2017-18 and Rs223 million for 2016-17.
The district council approved the fiscal budget of 2016-17 which was not presented last year.
The budget session was held under the chairmanship of Syed Nawab Gul who was also the convener of the session while district Nazim Dilroz Khan presented the fiscal budget of 2017-18.
According to the revised budget, the expected income for the year 2017-18 decreased and remained Rs 90.6 mln.
The district councils also approved Rs 223 mln fiscal budget for the year 2016-17.
According to the budget breakup, the district council Torghar allocated 20 percent amount for education, 10 percent for health, 15 percent for youth support, social welfare and agriculture. The council unanimously approved 55 of budget for the discretion of the district council.
On the occasion, district nazim Dilroz Khan said that approval of fiscal budget 2017-18 is his first success as Nazim and he would bring development and prosperity in the most neglected district.
He further said “we would also address corruption issues in the district and complete all developmental schemes on time”.
