District administration Tharparkar to ensure maximum facilities at heatstroke camps

HYDERABAD:The Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar, Sheehzad Tahir Thaheem Monday asked the officers concerned to ensure provision of maximum facilities at heatstroke camps to protect the people from heatstroke during current hot weather in the district.

According to official handout issued here on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner while presiding over a meeting of the officers, local Government, Health and revenue departments informed that the district administration has set up heatstroke camps in various parts of the district aimed to protect the people from the heatstroke adding that required facilities should be provided at these camps so that the people could be facilitated during hot weather.

He directed to the officers of local Government to ensure the availability of drinking water in these camps with other required facilities including medicines. The other issues being faced by the organizers of these camps should also be resolved on emergency basis, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed his annoyance for absence of the town officer of Dahli, Islamkot and Chelhar in the meeting and directed issuance of show cause notices to them.

On the occasion, the focal person of health department Dr, Bhawani Shankar informed the meeting that the department has established seven heatstroke camps in hospitals as well as the public places with availability ambulances, doctors, paramedics and life saving drugs.
