KHANEWAL: The Punjab government has started offering laser land levellers to small growers on subsidised rates through balloting.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Falak Sher held draw as the chief guest.
Addressing the ceremony, Falak Sher said that Rs 225,000 subsidy was being offered to growers on each laser land leveller.
Deputy Director Water Management Anwaar-ul-Haq said that 450 laser land levellers had been given to growers in Khanewal district so far while 82 growers would get laser levellers recent year through draw, and the government would provide Rs 18.4 million subsidy.
He said that 300 applications were received for the draw, but 19 were rejected on the basis of getting laser levellers for the second time. While 281 applications were accepted for the draw.
