FAISALABAD: Faisalabad division has secured prominent positions in boys and girls competitions during All Punjab Inter Division Athletics (APIDA) Championship played on international level synthetics athletics track in Shahbaz Sharif Sports Stadium and Park.
In boy competitions, Multan division secured second and Sargodha division got third position, while in girl competitions, Gujranwala remained second and Sargodha division third.
Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan was chief guest in final competitions.
The teams including Faisalabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan participated in the two-day championship.
The race competitions of 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1500 meter, 5000 meter and 10,000 meter were held besides Disk throw, Hammer throw, shot put, triple jump etc.
The international level synthetics athletics track in Shahbaz Sharif Sports Stadium and Park has been laid down at a cost of Rs 100 million.
