Khushi Scholarships worth Rs 1 mln to be awarded to IUB students annually

BAHAWALPUR: Directorate of Fund Raising and University Advancement, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) organized the launching ceremony for the ‘Khushi Scholarship’ in collaboration with Khushi Development Organization in Ghotvi Hall, Abbasia Campus here on Tuesday.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob was the chief guest on the occasion. Director Fund Raising and University Advancement Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha briefed about the initiation and sustainability of the ‘Khushi Scholarship’ to be funded by Khushi Development Organization Bahawalpur.

Waseem Aslam from Khushi Development Organization told that the organization would provide an amount of Rs one million for scholarships annually to university students. Deputy Director Social Welfare Muhammad Uzair also appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Fund Raising and University Advancement and KHUSHI Welfare Organization for scholarship initiative.

The vice chancellor also admired the Directorate and Khushi Development Organization and extended IUB cooperation for such public-private partnership to help students. He advised the students, who were awarded scholarships, to work hard for a bright future.

The vice chancellor launched Khushi Scholarship on the IUB website. The MoU was also signed between IUB and Khushi Development Organization for further collaboration. The vice chancellor awarded scholarship certificates to the students of IUB at the end. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr Rubina Bhatti, Treasurer Dr Abu Bakar, Director Student Affairs Rizwan Majeed, Chairman Department of English Prof Dr Ayub Jajja, Director Academics Makshoof Ahmed, Director Media and Communication Shehzad Ahmed Khalid, Director Alumni Dr. Azhar Hussain and Deputy Registrar Fatima Muzahir were also present in the ceremony.
