KP Assembly passes Regularization of Teaching Assistants Bill 2017

PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly Friday unanimously passed KP Regularization of Teaching Assistants as Lecturers Bill 2017 that draw applause from both the treasury and opposition benches terming it milestone achievement for the promotion of education sector.

The assembly that met with Speaker Assad Qaisar unanimously passed the bill that was moved by Mehmood Jan ofPTI.

The bill would regularize 772 teachers who were appointed as Teaching Assistants in different colleges of the province through various notifications from 31.10.2014 till 2.12.2015. After regularization, teaching assistants would be called Lecturers.

Speaking on the occasion, both treasury and opposition termed the bill an accomplishment of KP Assembly and said that it would have positive implications

on performance of education sector. Parliamentarians also urged teachers to focus their abilities in discharging of their professional obligations.

KP Appointment of Employees of Establishment of M&E System in KP Bill 2017, KP Capacity Building, Planning and Development Department Employees (Regularization of Services) Bill 2017and KP Employees of Energy and Power Department (Regularization of Services) Bill 2017 was also presented in the house.
