KP Assembly Speaker for closer ties between Pakistan, Czech Republic

PESHAWAR: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has welcomed the opening of Consulate of Czech Republic in the province and stressed the need for close bilateral and trade relations between both the countries.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said the two countries enjoy 70-year friendly relations, adding that exchange of parliamentary, cultural, tourists and educational delegations, the ties between two nations and states could further be bolstered, said a press release issued here Wednesday.

He emphasized upon various measures at diplomatic level to bring the people of two countries closer besides strengthening contacts between the two governments.

The Speaker said the northern areas of Pakistan had great potential for tourism and several European tourists come Pakistan every year for hiking and Pakistan government provides them maximum facilities.

He urged the Czech Republic diplomat to provide visas and other travel facilities to Pakistani students and skilled workers.

Earlier, he felicitated the Ambassador of Czech Republic, Jan Fury over inauguration of Honorary Consulate in Peshawar and Asad Saifullah Khan over his nomination as Honorary Consul General of the Czech Republic in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Besides, Mrs. Jaroslava, First Secretary at the embassy of Czech Republic and Mr. Brikcius, accomplished cellist and Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Senators, members of National and provincial assemblies and members of diplomatic corps were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the ambassador of Czech Republic, Jan Furry said that the consulate would not only issue visas, but also would help in resolving other problems.

He said that the consulate would prove a milestone in the promotion of friendly relations between the Czech Republic and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
