PESHAWAR: The provincial assembly was informed on Tuesday that the federal government had provided Rs. 4319.851 million to the provincial government for Workers Welfare Board under the head of annual grant.
In a written reply to a question of MPA Mali Noor Salim during the question hour session, it was told in written reply that from 2014 to 2015 the federal government provided Rs. 2619.851 million out of which Rs 1961.459 million were utilized while during the year 2015-16 the centre provided Rs. 1700 million out of which Rs 1551.527 million were spent.
MPA Noor Salim expressed his apprehension over insufficient answer to his question and asked the Deputy Speaker to refer the question to the committee as the relevant minister was not present to answer the supplementary questions and the year wise breakup of the spending was not given in the written reply. The Deputy Speaker referred the question to the concerned committee.
To another question of MPA Noor Salim about termination of services of Worker Welfare Boards’ employees, in the written reply the House was informed that after 2013 as many as 767 contractual employees were sacked on the directives of Islamabad. Similarly, 165 more employees were sacked from services due to different reasons.
To another question of MPA Noor Salim regarding appointments in WWB after the year 2013, it was informed in written reply that only one teacher and 20 Class-IV employees were appointed and nobody was promoted.
