PESHAWAR:Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has taken notice of embezzlement in the sale of milk from dairy farm of the Agriculture
University Peshawar (AUP) and directed the recovery and stern action against the responsible.
The meeting of the PAC held here with Asad Qaiser in the chair in the Conference Room of the KP Assembly Secretariat Tuesday. Besides, MPAs, Qurban Ali Khan, Mahmood Khan Betani, Arbab Wasim Hayat and Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha, the Secretary Assembly, Nasrullah Khan Khattak, Additional Secretary, Amjad Ali, Secretaries Agriculture, Irrigation and authorities of the law, finance and audit departments attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed audit objections regarding Agriculture and Irrigation Departments during the year 2014-15 in detailed.
The committee while taking notice of the suspicious embezzlement of an amount of Rs.6.889 million in the office of Director General (Extension) Livestock and Dairy Development Production office in the head of the sale of poultry production.
For scrutiny of the matter, the committee constituted a joint panel comprising of the officers of Agriculture, Audit and Finance Departments and directed them to conduct a comprehensive inquiry as soon as to dispatch it to the public accounts committee.
