PESHAWAR: Speaker Gilgit Baltistan Assembly, Fida Mohammad Wednesday said that
population census in Gilgit Baltistan has completed while results from far-flung areas were awaited and as soon the same were received, local bodies’ elections will be held in the province.
Talking to media persons here, he said Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan has already announced that local bodies’ election will be ensured be next June and arrangements were underway to hold these elections in a fair and transparent manner.
Minister for local bodies, Farman Ali on this occasion said that elections of local bodies were delayed due to census process in Gilgit Balitistan and the same would be ensured after receiving results of census from far reaching areas of the province.
He said local bodies’ elections were imperative for resolving problems being faced by the people of GB.
