PFA serves notices on 19 food points

MULTAN: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) served notices on 19 food outlets as they failed to meet required standard operating procedures (SOPs) stipulated for holding their production.

According to DG Food Authority Rifaqat Ali, food safety teams discovered some minor to big kind of impurities in food production process, with unhygienic situation into the premises.

Some of the production areas were found dirty with warms and flies.

Many of the food points couldn’t produce medical fitness certificate of their workers which was required by the authority.

Freshco sweats and Madina Milk Shop were fined Rs. 10, 000 fine each.

DG PFA expressed resolve to carry out indiscriminate checking of food points.

He said action would be made against those which would neglect required standard for preserving or manufacturing food items.
