State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the Prime Minister Imran Khan was committed to improve the living standard of common man so working dedicatedly for people instead of establishing his own sugar mills or looting public money through money laundering.
In past, the government machinery was used to win the bye-elections, but they have ended this practice and now endeavouring to bring election reforms, he remarked.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government did not increase general sales tax against the practice of previous government rather, he added, they have decreased petroleum levies by bearing a burden of Rs.450 billion.
The minister said PTI government was concentrating to increase tax net and Federal Bureau of Revenue has so far collected tax of Rs. 3750 billion, adding, it would achieve its target soon.
He lauded the role of media in highlighting national issues and said PTI government would provide them maximum facilities including provision of health cards in addition to facilitating them in Naya Pakistan project.
About blasphemy issue, Farrukh Habib said this was very sensitive issue and the government should let to tackle it amicably. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has motivated the heads of Islamic countries to raise united voice and get a law approved at global level to deal blasphemous matters so that no one could hurt religious feelings of the Muslims.
Responding to a query, he said opposition parties were trying to blackmail Prime Minister Imran Khan but he was a very committed person and would not bow down before any corrupt element.
He strongly criticized the opposition parties and said about 500 nabbed elements were posted on key posts by these parties.
About Faisalabad, Habib said Rs.13 billion development package of this city was in tendering stage and development work on its major roads would start soon.
He said Rs. 4.5 billion development package of Water and Sanitation Agency has also been approved and work on it would start soon while construction of new colleges and dispensaries was also in the pipeline.
He said a technical university has also been proposed for Faisalabad and TEVTA has accorded its formal approval while remaining after completing other formalities, work would be started soon on this project.
Similarly, PC-1 of phase-II of Children Hospital Faisalabad has also been prepared while the government has released remaining funds of Haseeb Shaheed Hospital which would be completed this year.
He said Allama Iqbal Industrial City was the first Special Economic Zone of the country at which foreign investors were ready to invest on it.
Responding to another query, he said Rana Sana Ullah should be ashamed as he and his party was eyeing on Jahangir Tareen to abolish Imran Khan’s government. He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has ruined the country and now Bao Jee (Nawaz Sharif) ran away abroad under the excuse of medical treatment.
PM Imran Khan listened to the party workers including Jahangir Tareen carefully but adopted a same policy of accountability for all, he added.
