HANGU: The district Police and Frontier Crops on Thursday started crackdown against criminals to maintain peace and order during the Holy month of Muharram.
According to DPO, during search and strike operation, 15 suspects including four criminals were apprehended. one machine gun, two pistols, one rifle and 350 cartridges of different bores were also recovered.
He said comprehensive security plan has been chalked out to observe peaceful Muharram processions and Majalis, adding that section 144 would remain intact till 10th of Muharram under which display of arms, use of tinted glasses in vehicles, pillion riding, use of loudspeaker would be banned.
He said police, FC, Army and other security agencies will help maintain security of Muharram processions and Majalis.
