PPP has no soft corner for PTI chief: Nafisa Shah

HYDERABAD:Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Syeda Nafisa Shah has denied any soft corner of the party for PTI Chief Imran Khan and said that being a peoples oriented political party, the party leadership always struggled for the rights of the common men.

The party leadership and the workers considered Imran Khan a sportsman instead of politician, she said while talking to media persons here at Hyderabad Press Club where she was invited to a reception on Friday.

She said that the party had deep roots among the masses and whenever it got the chance to govern, its leadership served the countrymen according to their will with provision of maximum facilities to them.

The party leadership right from Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to Asif Ali Zardari had strived to make the foreign policy of the country strong by developing friendly relations with many countries, she said.

She said that whenever PPP took the command of the country, it experienced difficult situation but it always preferred to serve the masses and strengthened the institutions.

She said the Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari had taken notice and advised the Sindh Chief Minister to ensure the start of cane crushing in the sugar mills of the province.

About the protest of teachers in Karachi, she said that the provincial government fully believed in quality education through qualified teachers at the education institutions of the province. However, she said that on the directives of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the negotiations with the teachers organisations have been started to settle the issue.
