PESHAWAR: The Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar and Government of Federal Republic of Germany (GIZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding here on Thursday to assess the mental health of corona affected patients using latest equipments.
Under the project, the Department of Psychology would initially focus on COVID affected people from Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda and Kohat for assessment of their mental health, said Chairperson Department of Psychology Dr Erum Irshad.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees, Heidi Hermann from GIZ, Prof Dr Erum Irshad, Chairperson Department of Psychology, Prof Dr NIAZ Muhammad , Dean Faculty of Social Sciences , Director Planning and Development Engr Athar Bangash signed the MoU.
The main objective of the MoU is to provide the psychological assessment tools to the laboratories and collaborate in training workshops regarding mental health services.
Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees said that the MoU would enhance capacity of the staff and students in the field of psychology and services regarding mental health.
Heidi Hermann of GIZ said the project would help out the Psychology Department to practice the social cohesion and social well being easily.
