PTA issues new transport fare for CNG operating vehicles plying on inter districts routes

PESHAWAR:The Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) Khyber Pakthunkhwa has issued transport fare for CNG operating vehicles on intercity and district routes with immediate effect and until further orders.

The PTA spokesman told reporter on Monday that new fare list has finalized after long deliberation between officials of Transport Department and transporters unions representatives KP after which its notification was issued on Nov 6, 2018.

As per new price list for CNG operating flying coaches and mini buses for Peshawar and Kohat route was fixed Rs81 whereas Rs 94 would be charged by air-conditioned (AC) buses, Rs71 by ordinary buses and Rs 78 by luxury buses.

For Peshawar-Bannu route, PTA has fixed Rs 240 for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs278 for air-conditioned buses, Rs211 for ordinary busses and Rs238 for luxury buses.

For 226 kilometers long Peshawar-DI Khan route, Rs420 were fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs487 AC buses, Rs379 for ordinary buses and Rs403 for luxury buses.

The PTA has fixed Rs195 for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs226 for AC buses, 171 for ordinary buses and Rs187 for luxury buses for 156 kilometers long Peshawar-Haripur route.

For Peshawar-Abbottabad route, Rs.241 was fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs280 for AC buses, Rs212 for ordinary buses and 231 for luxury buses.

Rs. 271 has been fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs315 for AC buses, 238 for ordinary buses and 260 for luxury buses for 217 kilometers long Peshawar-Manshera route.

PTA has fixed Rs72 for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs84 for AC buses, Rs64 for ordinary buses and Rs69 for luxury buses for Peshawar-Mardan 58 kilometers route.

For Peshawar-Malakand, Rs147 was fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs 171 for AC buses, Rs129 for ordinary buses and Rs141 for luxury buses.

For Peshawar-Mangora, Rs 215 was fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs249 for AC buses, Rs189 for ordinary buses and Rs186 for luxury buses.

For Peshawar-Dir, Rs312 was fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs362 for AC buses, Rs275 for ordinary buses and Rs300 for luxury buses.

For Peshawar-Chitral, Rs 456 was fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs529 for AC buses, Rs401 for ordinary buses and Rs438 for luxury buses.

For Peshawar-Charssada, Rs34 was fixed for flying coaches and mini buses, Rs 39 for AC buses, Rs29 for ordinary buses and Rs32 for luxury buses.

The spokesman said existing concession of 50pc in the actual fare for students of religious seminaries, educational institutions, disabled persons and senior citizens above 60 years age will continue.

In case of air-conditioned and heating system is not working in air conditioned vehicles, the fare of ordinary bus would be charged.

“The transport department or traffic police alone can’t do anything unless supported by masses,’ he maintained.

The spokesman warned of taking strict action against violators and asked people to inform PTA and Govt authorities including traffic and motorway police in case of overcharging so that prompt action could be taken against overcharging elements.
