RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has collected 29 samples from restaurants and Fast Food outlets which have been sent to lab for test.
According to RCB spokesman, Food department of the board is trying to ensure supply of healthy and quality food items to the people. Raids are being conducted to check quality of edibles and action in accordance with the law being taken against restaurants and Fast Food outlets found indulge in supply of substandard and low quality food items to the customers.
He informed that raids were carried out in Saddar area and 29 samples were collected from Kareem Hotel, Gulistan, Amin and Bajaur Restaurants, Pehalwan and Sarhad Caterings and Al-Saeed Refreshment Center.
Incharge Food Department Chief Inspector Waris Bhatti talking to reporter informed that equipments have been imported to check quality of edibles. Now, mobile testing lab facility would be available to the department particularly to check quality of milk, juices and other edibles, he added.
