BAHAWALPUR:District Health Authority, Bahawalpur has issued red alert warning against Influenza virus (Flu) in the district.
According to the statistics issued by Bahawal Victoria Hospital, total 14 cases of Influenza were registered in the hospital of which three were diagnosed with the virus.
Two of those patients died of the disease while eleven were discharged after negative reports of Influenza. At present no patient of Influenza is under treatment in the hospital. Executive Officer District Health Authority Bahawalpur, Dr Fayyaz Anwar has warned the citizens against Influenza virus.
He said virus is transmitted from one person to another and symptoms of the illness include fever, cough and running nose. The disease can prove fatal in short span of time and precautionary measures should be taken against it, he added.
He suggested use of mask for protection against the viral virus.
