Sindh University nominated for international award

HYDERABAD:The Academic Union of Oxford (AUO) has nominated the University of Sindh Jamshoro for the prestigious international award “Best educational institution in science and education.

The university spokesman informed that the union has also announced to honor the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh with ‘Manager of the Year’ award.

The awards will be given to the university and its Vice Chancellor at a ceremony to be held at Westin Palace Milan, Oxford, United Kingdom on July 2, 2019 where Prof. Dr. Fateh Mohammad Burfat would receive the honors.

In this regard, Executive Director at the Academic Union of Oxford Julia May duly informed Vice Chancellor Dr. Burfat regarding the nomination of the university and him for the awards through email. “University of Sindh has been selected as the nominee for the prestigious international award in science and education as well as high level of its alumni”, the email reads.

She further stated that the head of the varsity would be honored with the title ‘Manager of the Year’ in science and education sphere and a personal certificate.

According to her, the award function will form one of the most important events of the business calendar this year, with the best representatives of regional science, business honored at the ceremony.

The VC University of Sindh has expressed delight over this achievement and landmark headway and termed it the outcome of the academic reforms introduced by him at the campus in terms of making exams’ results as well as attendance system online and inclusion of the varsity in QS ranking.

Congratulating all the stakeholders of the university, the vice chancellor vowed that he would take more initiatives to bring his varsity at par with other national and international educational institutions in continuity.
