South Punjab Secretariat likely to be made fully functional at new judicial complex

MULTAN:Punjab government started search for suitable site to keep South Punjab Secretariat fully functional, with vision to establish offices of all departments at same place to facilitate local people.

Provincial Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik and Additional Chief Secretary South Punja Capt Retd Saqib Zafar visited new Judicial Complex and inspected building thoroughly. They also inspected parking area and conference room.

Provincial Minister Dr Akhtar Malik informed that Punjab government wished to keep South Punjab Secretariat fully functional. Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar constituted a special cabinet committee to prepare recommendations in this regard. He added that the cabinet committee will submit recommendation to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.

After approval from CM, offices of all departments will be established at new judicial complex under temporary arrangement.

New judicial complex was comprised of 791 kanals, with all possible facilities including water, electricity, gas and some others. Secretary Law Bahadar Ali Khan was also accompanying the visiting delegation. He stated that the courts will be shifted to some other buildings in case the government finalizes to establish South Punjab at new judicial complex.

Additional Chief Secretary Capt Retd Saqib Zafar stated that establishment of offices of all departments at same site would surely improve liaison and facilitate local people.
