PESHAWAR: A 14-year child was among the three persons on Thursday succumb to Dengue fever here at Khyber Teaching Hospital bringing the death toll from the disease to 31.
Arbab Organzaib, father of deceased Bahadr Zaib told this agency that his 14-year child died of Dengue after spending 10-day at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH).
According to Dengue Response Unit, provincial Department of Health the other two dead were identified as 50-year lady Armarha D/o Mohammad Dean, resident of Board Bazar and 45-year Ehsanullah s/o Mohammad Ashraf resident of Sufaid Dehri.
On Thursday screening tests of 1682 persons were conducted with as many as 270 found positive of Dengue virus, the unit reported, adding that 117 patients were hospitalized on the day while 134 were discharged.
The KP government has been struggling to overcome the dengue outbreak, as the number of victims in the province continues to rise.
