Traffic Police recovers Rs52.1mn from challan of vehicles in 2017: DSP

DIR LOWER: District Dir Lower Traffic police have add up Rs 52.1million in the provincial kitty generated through challan of 190,921 vehicles over various traffic violations in the jurisdiction of the district during the year 2017.

DSP Headquarters Fakhre Alam and Traffic Police In-Charge Shad Mohammad told a media briefing here Friday that the performance of the district police in the previous year was good.

The traffic police fined 190,921 vehicles over traffic violations including over speeding, driving without licence, under age driver, vehicles with tinted glasses, violation of traffic signals, use of prohibited registration number plates, overloading, use of cell phone while driving, and plying vehicles without permit in the district.

The DSP issued special instructions to the police personnel to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow in parts of the district. The problem of traffic jam in some congested parts of the district has been addressed to a great extent, he told when asked.
