Treasury benches face criticism of ANP over PEDO Amendment Bill

PESHAWAR: Parliamentary leader of ANP in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly,

Sardar Hussain Babak criticized Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (Amendment) Bill 2017saying it is an attempt of ruling government to bring their blue eyed boy.

Provincial Law Minister, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi faced severe criticism by ANP legislator when he tabled amendment bill in the house chaired by Deputy Speaker, Dr. Mehr Taj Roghani.

Babak deplored that government wants to appoint their blue eyed boy through the bill, which would be given a hefty amount of 1.4 million rupees monthly. He said that the person is not an engineer neither qualified and nor capable to run an organization which is important revenue generating organization.

He said that majority of the people were being hired for

Pakthunkhwa Energy Development Organization PEDO from Punjab and there is lot of disparity in salary structure of KP and Punjab employees working in same organization. He question that why NAB, Ehtisab Commission and Provincial Public Accounts Committee has turned a blind eye over the issue. Babak said that policy of nepotism should be stopped in this revenue generation organization.

Khan said that smooth running of PEDO demands that its head should have a rich experience of management rather being a qualified engineer. He said that WAPDA and NEPRA are also being run by persons who have needed management experience in relative field.
