FAISALABAD: Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Tuesday took a rally and arranged a seminar to mark the Higher Education Commission’s 15 Years of Excellence.
The walk started from Department of Agriculture and culminated at the Admin Block.
Talking to participants, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhamamd Iqbal Zafar said that no nation could make development without skilled manpower and quality education.
Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Mohammad Amjad said that the gross enrollment across the country raised from 2.6 to 9 per cent in the last 15 year due to HEC. The publication of research papers raised from 800 to 12000. He said PhDs scholars raised with an equally amazing ratio from 3,110 to 12,000 in 15 years.
Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Chattha said that splendid achievement of the HEC can be gauged from the facts and figure that the then existing number of universities laddered from 59 to 188 higher education institutions.
Dr Abdul Khaliq lauded the steps being taken on the part of HEC. Dr Rasheed Ahmad and Dr Ashfaq Wahid also spoke on the occasion.
